Layla contacted me shortly after confirmation of her pregnancy to plan a pregnancy announcement session with her husband to ultimately share the exciting news with family and friends. She had an idea of location, but hadn't quite finalized the exact one just yet. We ultimately agreed that Montaluce Winery would offer a stunning backdrop to her pictures. I always love photographing at Montaluce, as it has easily become one of my most favorite venues. Sitting on over 400 acres, I always leave feeling like I've traveled the world in just one location. You have breathtaking views overlooking the vineyard, water areas at the reservoir and pond, ethereal vibes in the meadows and forest, and finally eloquent backdrops both inside with the formal staircase and outside the main restaurant building with the iconic wall and vining.
We started the session at the iconic oak tree. This particular tree sits upon a hill overlooking the tree line, pond, and vineyard, all of which offer captivating and panoramic views.
Layla and Alec brought with them a couple of sentimental props. We made certain to incorporate the letter board announcing Baby Youngblood, along with her sonogram photos. The phrase "HI MOM AND DAD!!!" on the sonogram was the perfect little touch to this session.
From here, we moved on over to the pond area and the vineyard, still incorporating the sonogram and announcement board in several photos.
